This year’s installment of the MoCo Epic in Montgomery County was a two day mountain biking extravaganza with a festival on Saturday followed by Sunday’s full slate of festivities, rides, and the after party.
Although Mother Nature had her say with several consecutive days of torrential rain in early October which forced the postponement of the MoCo Epic to this past weekend, she then rewarded our patience with perfect Fall weather.
With upwards of 1,000 riders participating in the various rides and festivities along with the hundreds of volunteers, it is always a great way to catch up with old friends and make new acquaintances.
The riding doesn’t get much better with the 100K+ ride recognized as an IMBA Epic Ride which ties together all the wonderful parks, trail systems and trails with mile after mile of sweet single track.
Jeff Niner rode the 50 mile route.
Kathryn Hansen rode the 35 mile route (MoCo South) after racing the Paranormal 6 Hour the night before.
The after party was the perfect way to end the weekend with great live music, wonderful food, and great beer from Dogfish Head Brewery.
Huge thanks to all of the sponsors and the volunteers who make this a truly Epic event to benefit MORE in support for the continued access, development, and maintance of our local trails and trail systems.
