Adam’s race report from his strong showing Saturday at NOVA BMX:
In the 20″ race I won the first moto and got my ticket to the main (bye for the second moto), and won that too. I surprisingly felt better on the 20″ bike than my slalom bike, even though this was the 2nd time I rode it!
Cruiser I think they combined with intermediate or expert guys since we didn’t have a lot of people show up; there were races at other tracks that day. In the first moto the top two guys were gone by the second turn, so I got 3rd and had to race the second moto to qualify for the main. The start and first straight were really close, but I pulled a low/high pass in the second berm and that was enough to take the win in that moto and qualify for the main. The same 2 guys checked out, and I pulled the same move as the second moto on the 3rd place guy, but couldn’t make it stick and got 4th in the main, so 3rd overall by points.
Since I wanted to race again after going to the track 3 weeks ago I had to buy a license, so I’ll be out a lot more this season. Should help for CX season a little bit, and it’s good to go after work for something different….
