Schooley Mill race directors ordered up some great weather after putting together a killer course. The cyclocross usual, “ we’ll take sunny sky with mild temperatures, perfect fall foliage, hold the rain, thanks” then almost as an afterthought “can we get an extra helping of wind? these folks have skin suits they’re probably ready to zip up!”. Schooley Mill is a great course, mostly grass with a few long straightaways that leave you wishing for a wheel to sit on (especially with the headwinds!), some off camber turns and The Log before the hill climb. Mary and Chris headed out for some food truck chili and cyclocross action.
Mary rallied her pink cyclocross bike around the course putting her mountain bike skills to use. This may be the first race Mary was captured NOT smiling as she put her game face on for a sprint finish! Chris put down some consistent laps only to be caught at the end by Crosshairs teammates pushing him out of the top 10! Maybe next week!
